King Anaji Chauhana built Ana Sagar in 1135-1150. He was the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan.Prithvi Raj Chauhan built the landscape for the better cause of the society.Presently the Ana Sagar Lake as a major reason for increase in the popularity of Tours to Ajmer.
Jehangir build the Daulat Bagh gardens near the lake and Emperor Shah Jahan of Taj Mahal fame added the Baradari, a marble pavilion.
